Can Corona cases be treated in private hospitals?
The fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown begins from Monday. The Centre issued a notification in this regard on Sunday, extending the curbs for two more weeks, will May 31. In fresh guidelines, the home ministry also allowed the resumption of app-based cab services; gave permission to the functioning of all shops, markets and commercial establishments except those in malls; and eased curbs on private offices that were previously allowed to function with 33% staff strength. With the 32 new coronavirus cases were reported as of 8:00 AM on May 18 in Telangana, according to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Telangana to 1,551. Among the total people infected as on date, 992 have recovered and the 34 is the death toll. Currently, Covid-19 patients are being treated at Gandhi Hospital, Chest Hospital, King Kothi Hospital, Sarojini Devi Hospital and TIMS Hospital. In the initial phase of the outbreak in the state, some Covid-19 patients were treated in corporate hospitals. However, the private outpatient medical services and pre-scheduled surgeries have been put on hold for 50 days.
