New excise policy in AP

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has released a new excise policy from today. The new excise policy will be effective from 1st October. The new excise policy allowed for 3,500 retail liquor stores. A new excise policy was designed to allow AP Beverages Corporation to run retail liquor stores. The government, which is stepping up its ban on alcohol as part of its promise during the election, has decided to run its own liquor store.
The government will operate liquor stores in zones, municipalities and corporations. Beverages Corp. is looking for places to set up liquor stores. Number boards will be set up in every liquor store in Telugu and English and CC cameras will be installed in each shop. A committee will be formed with six members under the auspices of the District Joint Collector for the operation of the liquor shop. Each shop employs five people in urban areas and four in rural areas. Employees will be hired on the outsourcing basis.
